The a2 Milk Company

All a2 Milk® comes from cows specially selected to naturally produce milk with only A2-type protein. Many people say they can feel the difference.

Founded in New Zealand in 2000 by scientist Dr Corrie McLachlan and Howard Paterson, The a2 Milk Company is built on the knowledge that not all milk is the same.  

Originally all milk only contained the A2 protein, but over time many cows developed the A1 protein, which can cause digestive problems for many who drink their milk.

The a2 Milk Company partners with local farmers to ensure that all cows used to produce their milk only have the A2 protein. Naturally, that means the milk sold in Western Australia is locally produced and free of the A1 protein.

The company continues to work with scientists around the world to increase the understanding of the benefits of the A2 protein.
